Since he was a child, Josh Snodgrass had a dream that playing the acoustic guitar could be enough without a band or vocalist. His vision was that you could play the chords, melody, bass line, and percussion all at the same time. It wasn’t until he heard an Australian guitarist named Tommy Emmanuel play that this seemed possible. He worked diligently to take Tommy’s boldness, energy, and enthusiasm and apply it to his own distinct style. Josh uses a rare technique called hybrid playing where you hold a normal flat pick with the thumb and index finger and then use the remaining fingers to pick. This results in a wide range of note and rhythm possibilities making the guitar a stand alone instrument.
